Quick answers on flameproof electricals

What is a flameproof (Ex d) enclosure?

A flameproof (Ex d) enclosure is built to withstand an internal explosion and stop it from igniting the hazardous atmosphere around it. Its strong housing and precisely machined flame paths cool escaping gases below ignition temperature. The governing standard is IS/IEC 60079-1.

Which areas need Ex d electrical equipment?

Areas classified as Zone 1 or Zone 2, where an explosive gas or vapour may be present, need certified equipment. Typical sites are pharma solvent rooms, chemical reactors, refineries and distilleries.

What does Electra Automation supply?

Electra Automation supplies Ex d flameproof LED lighting, clean room fixtures, junction boxes, exhaust and pedestal fans, plugs and sockets, DOL starters, control panels, and hooters or aviation lamps.

What documents come with the equipment?

CIMFR / PESO test certificates are supplied with every batch, along with datasheets, material test reports and declarations at delivery, so your inspector has the paperwork ready.

Where is Electra Automation based, and who does it serve?

Electra Automation is based in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Telangana, and has worked in flameproof electricals since 2004. It ships project supplies to industrial plants across India.
